North Dakota: Free government cell phones & Internet from ACP and Lifeline

When the Dakota Territory was created way back in 1861, it was named after the region’s Dakota Indians. In fact, Dakota is a Sioux word that means friends or allies. That’s why we’re happy to report that financially-struggling residents of the Roughrider State have a new ally in Lifeline Assistance, the free government cell phone program. Plus another ally in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), the free government internet program.

Most Americans think these are the best of times in North Dakota because of the shale oil boom. But let’s not discount the tough times suffered by those who are unemployed and the additional thousands who are underemployed.

They need help getting jobs, getting in touch with their medical professionals, and getting a hold of their children and parents.
Luckily, Lifeline Assistance and the Affordable Connectivity Programs have has finally come to North Dakota and that should mean that better times are also here for the state’s poor.

How to qualify for an ACP free government phone and unlimited service in North Dakota

It’s even easier to qualify for ACP service than it is to qualify for Lifeline service. The USAC website spells it all out:

Consumers qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) through participation in Lifeline or a Lifeline-qualifying program, having an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, through participation in ACP-qualifying programs,  such as the free and reduced-price school lunch or breakfast program (including the Community Eligibility Provision), WIC, through award of a federal Pell Grant, or through participation in a participating service provider’s existing low-income program.

Is this site real or fake. Because of my disability prevent me from working and I really could use this phone.

This is 100% real, Ricky. Lifeline Assistance is a long-standing government program. You can read about it in about 1000 articles on this site or Google it and come back.

Unfortunately, disability alone is not enough to make you eligible, but we suspect that you may qualify several other different ways. To find out if you qualify, check out this page:
