Poor people often move just like poor people often lose their devices. Just like poor people often have more of a need to have a device because they may not have a place to sleep because of drug use or abuse or whatever reason getting evicted or losing transportation and being stuck somewhere at one point. So these companies who and give someone a device because someone else has had one they should at least think and come up with a solution because many people move quickly when they are poor..

Lee Cox Fort Wayne says
TYPE IN THIS PHRASE:
EBB PROVIDERS BY STATE.
Search that in google. It should bring up a website that will take you to the website of usac. It will show you a bunch of states. You click on your state. It will show you a bunch of providers but not all who will cover your state. It will show you check marks by the names of providers who sell tablets or refurbished computers.
Assurance Wireless and Boost Mobile and TracFone Wireless have check marks but they supposedly do not sell devices.
The best company I’ve seen and I’ve studied several hundred companies all over the nation is terracom wireless. And I think they cover 21 states. They have a Galaxy Tab a 8.4 inch tablet worth over $250. You pay only $10 and one penny that’s it no more. They also give you unlimited data. And they charge the company or the government rather $40. Some companies take the whole $50 and don’t give you much. Stand up wireless has a decent tablet but they give only 10 GB per month even if they sign you up for lifeline and ebb. you should sign up separately for the Emergency Broadband benefit program to get your tablet and data plan. And then sign up separately for Lifeline to make sure you get a Lifeline phone. Some companies are giving free Lifeline phones even if you had one before during this ebb hectic time.
Some other companies who sell tablets over many states include:
ENTOUCH WIRELESS
EXCESS TELECOM
SELECTEL
TRUCONNECT sells a tablet that is 4G connectable. That means that it can have mobile data added to it just like a cell phone so you don’t need Wi-Fi and you can get internet without Wi-Fi if you’re in the boonies. But trueconnect has a pretty cheap tablet. I hear Q Link does also. Companies that have Wi-Fi only tablets will not give you data if you are away from and Wi-Fi signal. Unless you have a phone that can tether to it. Then you should have a really good data plan on your phone. If you have a Wi-Fi only tablet what I would do is get my phone and have a Walmart family mobile data plan added to that phone. Because Walmart Family Mobile gives you unlimited talk text and data with 40 GB of high speed data before it slows down on you. And it also has 30 GB of hotspot data. That means you can run other devices off of that phone like the phone was a modem. Even computers are smart TVs or other phones or tablets. I don’t know if they’re 30 GB count toward the total high speed 40 gb. I know Boost Mobile gives you 35 GB and 12 GB of hotspot. And even when that 35 gigabytes of Boost Mobile high speed data ran out there was still 12 GB of hotspot dad left so it was a total of 47 gb. Some companies count their hotspot data toward their high speed data. So you have to calculate things like you do all things. You have to ask a company if they sell a 4G tablet. If they do you have to ask him if it can be unlocked at some time. And then ask him how long it will take you to get it unlocked and what you must do. You’ll always have to ask for a phone or tablet to be unlocked and you have to be on top of that.
Kinetic Windstream sells a pretty good tablet. One ad says a Samsung tablet another ad says a Huawei or I whatever it’s called and those are pretty decent tablets. And there’s a Guam company that sells a good Samsung or Amazon tablet. A little company in Washington state which serves only a few counties sells a good Galaxy 8.0 tablet. Wireless is the best by far. Stand up wireless has a sky devices tablet. Not to be confused with Sky mobile. It is a elite T8 OCTA tablet. It may be dual SIM capable which means it could have two SIM cards. That means it can have two plans by two different providers at the same time. But since it’s 4G stand-up Wireless locks it. And they told my friend that after 45 days he can call to request and unlock and then will consider it. So I don’t know what that means because they give very little data 10 GB is a small amount of data even if it’s just for the ebb program. But if you were put in your ebb and your Lifeline plans together to get 10 gigabytes a month as a rip off. And that’s what stand up wireless is. But they gave a pretty decent tablet. They also give two other tablets only one at a time but they have three total and they will choose what you get I guess.
A NUUU TAB 8. OR A VORTEX.
AMERICAN ASSISTANCE GIVES AN 8-IN TABLET MADE BY FOXX DEVELOPMENT.
I THOUGHT IT WAS A WI-FI ONLY TABLET. BUT I LOOKED AT A MANUAL ONLINE AND I THINK IT’S A 4G TABLET. I ASSUMED IT WAS WI-FI ONLY BECAUSE AMERICAN ASSISTANCE WAS MANDATING THAT YOU SIGN UP WITH LIFELINE FOR THEM IF YOU WANTED THEIR TABLET AND DATA OFFER.
Companies which have unlimited talk text and data and good mobile data plans have a number for high-speed and then another number for hotspot data.
Walmart Family Mobile has 40 GB of high-speed with 30 amazing gigabytes of hotspot data.
Straight talk has 50 GB of high speed with 10 GB of hotspot.
Boost and insurance each give 35 GB of high speed with 10 to 12 GB of hotspot data.

Help! My husband has a government cell phone thru Assurance Wireless. They offer a free replacement phone if yours is broken or lost, you just add $5.00 to your account for shipping, which he has taken advantage of for his lost phone some months back. Recently, the replacement phone he had and paid the shipping on was dropped while at his grandfathers funeral and now does not work. We called and reported this to Assurance Wireless and was advised to add $25.00 to his account to purchase another phone for his plan. This was not a problem. He purchased the top up pin card from Wal-Mart, which is under virgin mobile, added the money to his account and instead of the cheap refurbished phone that barely charges and gets extremely hot while talking on it, he tried to purchase a better one from their website thru his my account from the money he added. Well, the only good phones were more than $25 so he purchased another top up card of $100, now leaving him with $125.00 on his account, now has been over a month and half. He goes to his account to purchase his phone and adds it to his cart but when he goes to check out it doesn’t give you the option to purchase it from his account like he was told he could do. They will only allow purchase payments from credit/debit or a pay pal card. We are low income and don’t have and extra $125 laying around to do just that. So he contacted Assurance and asked if they could refund him his money to his pre paid debit card so he then can in turn pay for the phone and get on with his service. Oh no, they have been giving him the run around about refunding the money either by added it to the pre paid or by check. They are wanting receipts, proof of purchase for the top up pin cards and a copy of the front and back of the card. Well the $25 was not on a card Wal Mart prints a receipt with the pin number on it so I cant provide a copy of that nor the receipt as he threw it away once he verified that the $25 was added to his account never thinking that he is catching crap about his money that we have very little of hence the reason he has a government phone anyway not too mention his is disabled with no income nor SSI because he is still going threw the legal proceedings. I did find the $100 top up card in the trash that he had ripped up after he once again verified that the money was on his account. I sent them a copy of the front and back as requested however, that is not good enough for them. They want a receipt. WE DONT HAVE A RECEIPT for either. I don’t understand why the need for that anyway. We paid for it as we have loaded his account. How else would he have been able to do that without a purchased top up card as the cashier has to activate it and enter the correct sum of money we allotted. Now a month later, he still has no phone or the money that’s been sitting on his account since mid January. This is ridiculous. At this point I’d rather have the money back and most definitely go with another carrier. They suck and customer service barely speaks english and never helpful when you call they pass the buck every chance they get. Do you have any recommendations of what he needs to do next? Any information you can provide or anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Cherie
Free Government Cell Phones says
It’s an unusual situation, Cherie, and we don’t have much in the way of advice for you. Have you gone back to Walmart to find out if they can print you a duplicate receipt?
What would happen if you cancelled your account? Wouldn’t they have to refund the money? Then you could enroll with a different free government cell phone company and get a smart phone because you’re a new customer. Who knows? It might even be a better phone than what he has now.

We’re not sure what your question means, Johnny.
Lee Cox Fort Wayne says
Wireless was owned by Virgin Mobile but they were recently bought by T-Mobile that’s why they are sending people T-Mobile 5G SIM cards to replace in their devices and I think you have to have it done by the end of the year or you will lose your service with assurance.

Is it true my Tempo isn’t giving out phones on the streets any longer ?
Why did they close up shop were they huckster and they ran there course !!

Many companies use independent contractors to operate their street events. Those independent contractors have certainly contributed to the level of fraud and abuse found at those street events, but do not know if that is the situation with Tempo.

Hello,
My purse was recently stolen and I lost everything that was in it. It’s been a nightmare trying to get everything back. Not shortly after losing all of my important documents I dropped my cell phone and the screen broke making it impossible to read anything on the screen or write messages, search for things, or ….do anything on it basically. I am writing to see if I can have my cell replaced. It’s a government issued free phone so I don’t know how this works. I do not believe I have had the phone for over a year if that matters. I also had other issues with the phone before it was taken from me. I would have trouble with the signal. (Not all the time but more than any other time in my life and w any other carrier). I don’t mind being its a free phone and get the job done, I’m very thankful
For that fact. I am involved in some important things that could ultimately effect my life greatly and that is why I NEED THIS PHONE AND IN WORKING CONDITION. I have Not used the phone in a while but when I did I was always dropping calls, there was a delay when someone would talk it would come thru at the wrong time thus the other person is already starting to asnwer. I’m dealing with a court case and have already missed ct. Dates due to my phone. I’m not from Denver and have no friends or family here so its been difficult.
Please help me to get a new cell phone. (It says vortex on the back, I believe it’s Tempo, I recieved it FREE via a booth downtown in Denver, CO. I was able to get for several reasons. All I had to show that particular day was proof I received food stamps and I did by showing my benefits card and paperwork.
My card has been missing for a good while so I’m assuming it’s not coming back and I’ve looked all over the area. Please help me!!!!

Free Government Cell Phones says
You have hit on one of the biggest faults in the free government cell phone program, Wendell. They have no way to provide a cell phone for someone in your situation (that is, someone who cannot prove low income). We’ve spoken to the people at the USAC about this “flaw” and they tell us they understand the issue exists and that they are working on a solution. Let’s hope the solution comes very early here in the new year.

If I use the phone for 1 text message every 60 days – This appears to be the minimum possible usage – And have the Rollover 125 plan, after 1 year, I would have 1,498 minutes banked, and 2 would have been deducted for the 6 text messages over the course of the year.
Will Tempo allow minutes to roll over for full year?
Further, let’s assume that I have the service, uninterrupted, for 5 years, making sure to re-certify in time and to not lose my number, and that I take good care of the phone.
During the last month of the 5 year period after the monthly minutes are added, in theory I would have 7,490 minutes – Good for 7,490 minutes of calls, 22,470 text messages, or about 3.65 GB of data transfer.
Would Tempo allow this?
I read Tempo’s T&C (here – http://www.mytempo.com/footer/Lifeline-Terms-and-Conditions.aspx), and they did not address my question, nor did their site in general.
I dread having to contact outsourced (and reportedly rude) customer service reps.
Thanks!

Sorry but posted a comment earlier today and by mistake entered an e-mail address that is no longer valid. This website has been very helpful and informational, and answered every question I had been unsure about.

There are a million reasons your cell phone may not be working, Audrey, and it’s impossible for us to analyze it online. You need to contact your service provider’s customer service or tech support team for the best answer.
