IMPORTANT NOTICE: Missing pages on website indicate company is no longer engaging in the Lifeline free government cell phone business.
Absolute Mobil is a small company that participates in the free government cell phone program in Arkansas, Nevada and Puerto Rico.
We can’t vouch for the company’s performance but its website proudly states, “Absolute Mobile is proud to serve Arkansas, Nevada and Puerto Rico with GREAT phone service and UNMATCHED customer service.” If they can live up to that grand promise, they may be an excellent source for a free government cell phone.
Of course, qualifying individuals who do business with Absolute Mobil get a free cell phone and 100 free minutes every month for the life of the cell phone. We’re not quite sure what the “lifetime of the phone” qualifier means, but if Absolute’s Lifeline Assistance program is like every other company’s program, it means “as long as you’re qualified for the program” instead of the literal meaning of the sentence. (Hey, Absolute, please let us know if our interpretation of your program is correct.)
What other features do you get in addition to the free cell phone and the minutes? Free caller ID, free call waiting, and free voicemail. Of course, since the program is aimed at America’s neediest people, no deposit and no credit check is required.
We’re heard people say that Absolute’s offer of 100 minutes is relatively stingy compared to so many other companies that offer 250 or more minutes per month. While that may be true, Absolute also offers a very interesting referral program that few other companies can match. If you refer a friend and they open a free government cell phone program with Absolute Mobil, you’ll get another 100 free minutes. And the more friends you refer, the more minutes you’ll earn.
To apply, just visit Absolute’s website and fill out the application form. You can also check out state specific program participation requirements. We’d also recommend taking a look at their frequently asked questions.

How do I unlock my SIM card so I can use my phone
Free Government Cell Phones says
All free government cell phones are “supposed” to be unlocked as per a recent Federal Communications Commission directive. However, some readers have reported that their service providers are dragging their feet. We have no idea if this is your situation, but we recommend getting in touch with your service provider’s customer service team by phone or online.
