Yes. Your LifeLine free government cell phone will display an indicator on your screen when you’re in a roaming area. And since LifeLine rates are the same for ALL calls no matter where you are, you’ll never be surprised with outrageously high roaming rates.

Can I use my phone when traveling to Puerto Rico?
Free Government Cell Phones says
Depends on which company you’re with and which national network that company uses. If you’re with a service provider that does offers the free government cell phone program in Puerto Rico you can probably use it there. But you should make absolutely sure before you travel. Contact the customer service team at your service provider either by phone or online to confirm.

I think my safe link phone is actually going to be a death link phone cause where I use the phone the most ( at home ), I have no signal. Have to go outside. If I’m hurt or dying in the house and try to call 911 I will not get thru and possibly die. It will be safe links fault in my eyes. You may not be a cell phone company but you should come up with a different name for them because safe link they are NOT

I have a safe link phone, and I moved recently. My phone is roaming and it will not make phone calls or text at all. So I guess the answer is you can’t roam with free government phones. I have been here for almost 2 weeks and still can not make calls/text.

I live in an area with bad reception, so my son paid for a booster from AT&T so that we could use our phones. Will I be able to use a SafeLink phone from home ?

Only Verizon works where I live. Does your service cover the same as Verizon?
