The “real” ReachOut went out of business years ago, Kelly. Many customers/readers have complained that the company now calling itself ReachOut has conducted itself less than honorably.
I just found that my personal info, along with S.S. # has been compromised on this site. How do I even get in here to shut down whatever account you may have on file for me
The real ReachOut went out of business years ago and we’ve heard many complaints about the site that now uses that domain. Sorry, but we do not know how to help you in this situation.
someone accessed my ssn on the dark web and tried to get a phone with your company under my name. to let you know i never tried this nor did i authorize anyone elde to attempt this for me. i have placed a credit freeze and fraud alerts om all 3 credit buearos.
For the 837,256th time, we are not a Lifeline service provider. This is an independent informational website so NO ONE has a phone with our company. You need to contact your service provider’s customer service team directly, Gordon.
i had reachout wireless service when i first moved to texas and needed a phone. i am now in tennessee and i need reachout wireless to review my phone meid number and activate lifeline again. thank you.
Good luck with that, Alphonso. ReachOut has been out of business for a number of years now. You need to start all over and enroll again. Here’s where you can find a list of all the free plans in your state:
I got information my social security number was compromised. I tried to get a free phone years ago and then it didn’t work. Please let me know what to do. 224 814 ****
Two problems with your request, Paul. One, ReachOut has been out of business for a number of years now. Two, we are neither ReachOut nor any other service provider. This is an independent informational website.

For god’s sake, Rhonda, if you don’t want your personal information stolen, PLEASE do not leave this sort of information on a public forum. We are not your service provider, so we cannot do any of the things you request. This is an independent informational website. You need to contact your service provider’s customer service team.
Someone illegally used my personal information to get a cellphone in my name.. and personal information in about every state to obtain phone service and utilities.. I am requesting a immediate shutdown and swipe to these devices..
What is going on with the actions on April 9, 2020? I along with many others have received a notification of Compromised SSN. How do we get this resolved and if a company is out of business then how are hits on our credit reports coming up?
We do not believe all these complaints have anything to do with the original ReachOut Wireless nor with the Lifeline free government cell phone program. This new company appears to be a scam that should be avoided at all costs. This should be reported to your credit card companies, to credit reporting bureaus, and to the police. But do not communicate any further with this ReachOut imposter.
I have compromised info and used to be of the original co. 15 yrs ago or so. Cancelled or let the recertification period expire,I don’t recall exactly. I do recall switching the the lifeline provider I switched to and have used ever since. Unknown in the midsouth
Some one unlawfully used my name and social security number to acquire a free phone on 4/9/20. The phone number given for the wireless phone is 262-212-****. A file lock has been placed on my credit file.
ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY AGAINST FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOR!!!
We’ve received a bunch of comments from readers about ReachOut in the last few weeks. Please, Mia, report this problem. This is NOT the ReachOut that was formerly in the Lifeline business.
Mia, I have just been notified by credit bureaus that my ssn was used to obtain 2 cell phones as well. I have obviously locked my credit file as well,…. but I’ve had no luck finding how to have these shut down/reported. Was hoping you could offer any advice?
At first glance this appears to be a free government cell phone issue, but it really isn’t. It is an identity theft issue disguised that should be reported to credit bureaus and police.
I just received 2 alerts on my credit report that my social was used and got 2 phones in my name. Who do I contact? And I don’t even have any Obama phones.
ReachOut doesn’t exist anymore, Malakia. It hasn’t existed in several years. Contact your customer service team by calling 6-1-1 on your free government cell phone.
First of all, we are not ReachOut. This is an independent informational website. We’d tell you to contact ReachOut’s customer service team, but the company has been out of business for several years now.
First, ReachOut is not your service provider. It may have been at one time, but it has been out of business for many months now. We would tell you to call 6-1-1 to connect to your service provider’s customer service team, but you can’t do that because your phone is broken. You have two ways to find out which company now handles your account. (1) Go down the list of service providers in your state and call each of them to ask if they are your provider. (2) Visit USAC.org because they can help you figure out who your service provider is. Here’s a link:
